Wednesday, May 20th, 2026: Treasures in Plain Sight: Exploring the Overlooked History of Acton
Step beyond the familiar and uncover the hidden stories of Acton’s past. This engaging presentation invites participants to explore the often-overlooked chapters of Acton’s history. Featuring a curated exhibition of artifacts and captivating stories shared by guest presenter Scott Brooks, the program sheds new light on the people, places, and moments that helped shape the community. Time & Place: 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the Halton Hills Public Library, Acton Branch, 17 River Street. Everyone welcome, free attendance. Visit the HHPL website for more details.
Sunday, May 31st, 2026: Historic Walking Tour - Willow Street North / Bower Street
Be sure to join Scott Brooks as he gives a historic walking tour of the streets Willow Street North and Bower Avenue. Time & Place: Starts at 2 P.M. - Corner of Mill Street East & Willow Street (near the Bank of Montreal). All welcome to attend, admission by donation. Rain Date: Sunday, June 7th.

Sunday, June 21st, 2026: Historic Presentation - The Vanished Historic Communities of Halton Hills
Come and listen to Scott Brooks, under the beautiful setting of Prospect Park, as he gives an informative presentation on the vanished communities that once were within the municipality we know today as Halton Hills. Time & Place: 7 P.M. - Rotary Bandshell at Prospect Park (near back of park). All welcome to attend, admission by donation. Rain Date: Sunday, June 28th.

Saturday, July 18th, 2026: Acton SNAP Summer Walk n’ Talk
Discover Acton’s rich history and learn about the environmental work underway to make Fairy Lake cleaner, greener and more resilient as part of the CVC's Acton Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan (Acton SNAP). After the walk, you’re invited to roll up your sleeves for a hands-on invasive species pull at Fairy Lake to help protect and restore local habitat. Time & Place: 8:00 A.M. at Prospect Park. Learn about the many local historic figures that are buried at Fairview Cemetery as Scott Brooks shares the stories of the lives they lived. This is the fourth tour of the ever-popular cemetery tour and features a new list of historic figures each time! Time & Place: Starts at 2 P.M. - Gates of Fairview Cemetery off Cobblehill Road.
