Vintage Acton Manager & Curator, Scott Brooks, on his family's 1948 Ford 8N Tractor.
Vintage Acton was started by local historian Scott Brooks, on February 28th, 2017, out of a need to provide online access to Acton, Ontario's rich and diverse history through photos and stories - all in one place, starting out on Facebook and later on Instagram.
Even though Acton is a small community within Halton Hills, it holds a large Historical and Cultural significance within the Region, the Province, and even across Canada.
Since starting Vintage Acton, Scott Brooks, Manager & Curator of Vintage Acton, continues his mission to share Acton's history through photos, videos, and events in a unique and passionate way, so that local history will be preserved and shared for the present and future generations.
The majority of Vintage Acton's photos and historical information is from the Dills Collection, Acton's largest historical collection, a legacy of the late Dave & Kay Dills who were once owners of the newspaper The Acton Free Press under their company Dills Printing & Publishing Limited. Since their passing, Scott is honoured to be the caretaker of the Dills Collection, and continues to actively share many historical items from this collection, whether that be online (Facebook, Instagram & YouTube), in publications, on display, or through an in-person tour or presentation.
If you have a photo, artifact, or story you would like to share, relating to Acton's past, please feel free to reach out at any time.

The year 2025 marked 200 years since Acton was settled and it was a busy year of celebrating!
A special thank you to everyone who joined Vintage Acton in honouring the anniversary of when the area known today as 'Acton', was first settled by Rev. Ezra, Rev. Zenas and Rufus Adams in 1825.
All throughout the year, as part of the 'Acton 200' campaign, Vintage Acton presented historical information, photos and presentations relating to this major milestone.
In addition to presentations and tours, a pin campaign took place, raising funds for the Acton Food Share, and the burial of a time capsule at Prospect Park.
Thank you for helping to make 2025 and Acton's Bicentennial a year of celebration! ~Scott Brooks, Manager & Curator of Vintage Acton
